What can I say about Izzy and Harri?
By Laura Macmillan. A repeat and fabulous customer. I asked for a 100% HONEST review from customers. In return she has asked I donate some knitted rattles to a charity of my choice (what a legend!)
Let me start at the beginning…….I have always looked for quirky, unusual and slightly different things for, not just myself, but my children too. It’s easy to pop into Argos and buy the generic toys that everyone in your town has but to give them something no one else will have gives you a warm fuzzy feeling inside which you just can’t beat.
So it was a few weeks off my youngest son’s first birthday and there I was trawling the web for the perfect gifts when I came across Izzy and Harri. I had never heard of them so clicked on the link. The very first thing I read was that they aim to make the recipients of their products smile. Immediately I felt this was the site I was going to be buying something from. Even if it was something small just to see if they could meet their goal.
Wow so much to choose from! Toys, clothing, bags, money boxes, nightlights & much much more.
I settled on a couple of knitted rattles, a teether & a blanket. Then I chose a medium sized gift box/case to hold everything (the very hungry caterpillar). The site said gift wrapping was free but I assumed as I had chosen a box it would just come in that. How wrong I was. The package arrived beautifully wrapped. Honestly I was kind of disappointed because I desperately wanted to peek at what I had brought but it was a birthday gift for my baby & so I left it alone so we could both enjoy the surprise together.
D-day!! Being 1 my son had no idea what was going on. Everyone kept fussing over him & giving him things, but the time came for our, I mean his, Izzy and Harri parcel. It was wrapped in good quality paper with a lovely Dr Seuss quote on a tag.
So the knitted rattles. I chose a chocolate milkshake one and a toy soldier. The rattle noise is gentle but clear. They have been chewed, sucked, thrown, crawled on and now walked on but it’s made no damage to either. They are truly holding up to the abuse only a child can give!
The teether. I wasn’t sure what to expect from this. I guess I thought it would be quite hard, like a bath toy, but I was wrong. It’s a very soft rubber yet durable enough to withstand a good chewing. I can’t think of anything I can compare it to. You will just have to buy one and see for yourself.
The blanket. So so soft. Stunning designs, ours has foxes on. It’s well stitched and ideal for using in a buggy or pram as well as for bedtimes. It washes well on a cold wash & can even be tumble dried on a low heat which is perfect if you have to rush to get it cleaned before your rather attached little person throws a tantrum because it’s “gone”!
Since then I have brought another rattle and a lovely rainbow night light. The rattle matches up to the standards of the previously described ones and the night light is perfect. It give off just enough light to see but not enough to keep your little darlings awake!
Then just when you think things can’t get any better how about this. Everything is fair trade! Yep all materials ethically sourced so no damage done to our planet. How awesome is that!
One last thing. The little touches. A card which can accompany your gift if comes included. A few little treats for you. Included. I’m convinced if the love that is put into each package was, let’s say glitter, that upon opening your house would be a beautiful shiny beacon! (Glitter not included but you get the idea)
Overall this is one of the best small businesses I have ever come across and I hope you will give them a try for yourselves.
Thank you Laura – and I’m so glad you liked your gifts. I really DO want to make my customers SMILE! 🙂
